About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Bulava ("we", "us"). They apply when you use bulava.in, the Bulava dashboard, invitations and event pages made with Bulava, and any related service (together, the "Service"). They are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and need no physical or digital signature.

By ticking the box to accept them when you create an account or buy a plan, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy, refund and cancellation policy, shipping and delivery policy and cookie policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Guests who only open an invitation, reply to it or upload photos accept the parts of these terms that apply to them: the rules on content and acceptable use, and the limits of our liability.

Who we are

The Service is provided by Bulava.

Customer care: support@bulava.in

Grievance Officer: Aman Pratap Singh

Our grievance redressal page explains how to raise a complaint and how quickly we respond.

Who can use Bulava

To create an account you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.

If you use Bulava for a business, such as a planning agency or a venue, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

Your account

  • Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Team members you add to an event work within your event. You choose their role and can remove them at any time.
  • Tell us at support@bulava.in straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

Using the Service

Bulava lets you design invitations, share them with guests, collect RSVPs, share photos and run your event. We improve the Service all the time, so features may be added, changed or removed.

We give reasonable notice before removing a feature you rely on, and we never reduce what a plan you have already paid for includes for that event.

Your content and your guests

You own what you put on Bulava: text, photos, guest lists and messages. You give us a limited licence to store, copy, show and process that content only to run the Service for you, for example to show your invitation to your guests, make your video and keep backups. The licence ends when you delete the content, apart from copies we keep for the periods in our privacy policy.

You confirm that:

  • you have the right to use everything you upload, including photos of other people;
  • you have a genuine reason to contact the guests you add, and you will stop contacting anyone who asks you to;
  • you will send WhatsApp messages and emails through Bulava only to people who expect to hear from you.

You are responsible for your event's content and guest list. As an intermediary under the IT Act, we don't review content before it is published, but we act on complaints and on lawful orders.

Acceptable use

As the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 require, you must not use Bulava to host, show, upload, change, publish, share or send anything that:

  • belongs to someone else and you have no right to use;
  • is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic, invades anyone's bodily privacy, or is harmful to children;
  • is defamatory, invades anyone's privacy, insults or harasses anyone on the basis of gender, is racially or ethnically objectionable, or promotes enmity between groups on grounds of religion or caste with intent to incite violence;
  • relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling;
  • infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or any other right;
  • misleads people about where a message comes from, or knowingly spreads false or misleading information;
  • impersonates another person;
  • threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, its friendly relations with other countries or public order, incites any cognisable offence, prevents the investigation of an offence, or insults another nation;
  • contains viruses or any other harmful code;
  • breaks any law in force in India.

You also must not send spam or messages people didn't ask for, create fake events to collect money or personal data, try to get around our security or overload our systems, or copy, scrape or resell the Service or our templates without our written permission.

If you break these rules, we may remove the content and suspend or close your account. We report unlawful content where the law requires.

Complaints about content and lawful orders

Anyone can report content that breaks these terms to our Grievance Officer, as our grievance redressal page explains. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days. If content shows a person's private areas, or shows them in a sexual act or in the nude, or is an impersonation in such a form, we act on the complaint within 24 hours.

We remove or disable access to content when a court orders it, or when an authorised government agency notifies us under the IT Act, within the time the law sets. When we remove content, we keep it and the related records for 180 days, or longer if a court or authority asks, so that it can be investigated.

If you disagree with a decision our Grievance Officer makes about content, you may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee set up by the Government of India, within 30 days of the decision.

Templates, music and our rights

Bulava's designs, templates, illustrations, music, software and brand belong to us or to the artists who license them to us.

When you use a template or a music track, you get a personal, non-transferable right to use it in the invitations, videos and cards you make on Bulava for your event. You may share what you make with your guests and on social media. You may not sell it, reuse the designs elsewhere, or extract the artwork or music.

Only music from Bulava's library can be used in video invitations.

Plans, prices and payments

  • The Free plan costs nothing. Paid plans and everything they include are listed on our pricing page, in Indian rupees, inclusive of GST. There are no hidden charges.
  • Event plans, such as Standard and Premium, are one-time payments that upgrade one event.
  • Yearly plans, such as Studio, give access for 12 months from payment and do not renew automatically.
  • You pay on Razorpay's secure checkout by UPI, credit or debit card, net banking or wallet. Bulava never sees or stores your card or bank details.
  • We record your agreement to a purchase only through your own tick of the unticked box at checkout. A plan starts once the payment is confirmed.
  • A change of price applies only to new purchases.
  • If you need a GST invoice, write to support@bulava.in with your order details.

Refunds and cancellations follow our refund and cancellation policy, and delivery follows our shipping and delivery policy. If something is wrong with a payment, please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank.

Services from other companies

Parts of the Service rely on other companies: Razorpay for payments, Meta for WhatsApp messages, Google for sign-in and maps, and email providers for delivery. Their own terms apply when you use them.

We are not responsible for their outages or decisions, for example WhatsApp declining to deliver a message.

Availability

We work hard to keep Bulava running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may pause the Service for maintenance, at quiet times and with notice whenever we can.

Keep your own copy of anything important. You can export your guest list and download your data at any time.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Account settings. Your events go offline at once, and you have 30 days to change your mind by signing in and restoring the account. After that, the account and its events are erased for good, except the records the law requires us to keep. Our account deletion policy explains each step.

We may suspend or close an account, or take down an event, if it breaks these terms or the law, puts other people at risk, or if the law requires us to. Where we can, we tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If we close your account without a good reason under these terms, we refund the unused part of any paid plan.

Disclaimers

We provide the Service "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms. In particular, we can't guarantee that every invitation is delivered or read: email and WhatsApp delivery depends on networks and services we don't control.

Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, or any other law that can't be excluded by contract.

Limits of our liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, goodwill or data, or the cost of other services.

Our total liability for any claim connected with the Service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹1,000 if you haven't paid us anything.

These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them, for example in cases of fraud or gross negligence.

Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of content you uploaded, a message you sent through Bulava, or your breach of these terms or the law, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses that result.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India.

If something goes wrong, please contact us first. Most problems are solved quickly that way. If we can't settle a dispute together, the courts with jurisdiction over our registered office will decide it. Nothing here stops you from approaching a Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, or the National Consumer Helpline, as the law allows.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We change the date at the top of this page and tell you in advance about important changes. If you keep using Bulava after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you don't agree with them, you can delete your account.
